Just Having A Good Time

Just Having A Good Time
Beth was ‘doing the monkey’, which usually gets
her to smile a lot.

Well, today was more or less like a normal Sunday, with the normal Sunday routine. Nothing terribly special about the happenings of the day, unfortunately. But that’s alright.

We did manage to (all three) spend some time outside this afternoon, though. Beth and I transplanted flowers into planters and hanging pots to decorate outside a bit. We bought them all last weekend while in Alexandria, and seeing as how they’re all full sun plants (and they were in the kitchen, where it’s a bit dim during most of the day) they were starting to quit growing some…so it was time to take care of that.

So a few weeks time will make a significant difference. They should fill out and look pretty good. In other completely random news, I just finally got the small bug out of my right eye. It flew in there during the afternoon planting, and I’d been trying to get it out all evening. It finally happened. Hooray!

The water levels are going down pretty well I noticed in many areas (especially where there wasn’t much collected) today. There’s still standing water around (I noticed several acres underwater on the way to church this morning), but it does seem to be going away. There’s no more water coming up through the basement floor either, so that’s a Good Thing. In fact, most of what came up has already evaporated.

So one of my ‘hopefully’ projects during the next two weeks is to get the basement cleaned out. If that project gets done, I would be a very happy man. I’ll have to store some of the basement stuff elsewhere (like the shed or the garage) for a while (until the sump basin and whatnot gets installed, which will be this summer sometime), but the basement needs a significant cleaning. So we’ll see what happens and/or how that goes.

Anyway, I’m heading for bed. I get a haircut tomorrow (finally — it’s been five weeks and that’s about a week too long, but that’s another story), so I’ve got to get up and out of bed about an hour earlier than normal because of it. I need my beauty sleep…yeah, something like that.

Until next time…
