We Are The Champions!
Well, I’m very happy to report that our performance at the Sub-Section One-Act Play Competition this past Saturday (yesterday) went very well. As the name implies, we are the champions of this level of competition.
The troupe pulled together quite well and worked well, which was about 3/4 of the reason it went as well as it did. I’d have to reserve the other 1/4 of things for myself (and Beth) for making it possible and doing all the other pertinent things.
The competition was again quite diverse and another good one to attend. Having received the champion place, we will be performing again next weekend for the Section Competition in Redwood Falls. So, we’re talking about another week of rehearsals and preparations.
Always a nice thing to do.
Hard Drive Changes
I received the copy of PartitionMagic 8 last week while I was not home. I had a chance today to finally use it to do what I found necessary: make drive changes.
Back in the day (e.g. 2-3 years ago), I made a series of 5GB drives (out of my total 37GB drive space), as those seemed appropriate. After the MP3 collection reached the 4.5GB mark, it was obvious that I resize a partition to allow for this change. Done.
However, after the upgrade to XP, it’s now even more apparent that a 5GB primary partition (e.g. for program files (not data) and OS) wasn’t going to be quite the option it used to be. To complicate the problem even more, all of the existing partitions were FAT32…and I wanted to change them to NTFS as I have no good reason to use FAT32 anymore.
After trying my old version of PartitionMagic (really old, I might add), I found quickly that I couldn’t do what I wanted to do. At least not easily. So, I was forced to buy the new version (going from version 3.0 to 8.0) which I got reasonably in an OEM package to do what I needed.
I have to say that I was quite pleasantly impressed with the program. Not only did it do the resizing that I wanted (I essentially created (instead of 5GB partitions) a series of 8GB partitions, removing one of the existing to make this happen), but it also converted drives to NTFS and allowed me to change/assign drive letters as necessary. I was quite pleased, and the process went very smoothly.
Anyway, I will be somewhat sparse but available through the bulk of this week…and we’ll see what happens as far as One-Act goes this weekend.
Until next time…
