Prepared For Takeoff
Beth took this picture of me just prior to launch. I can cross this off my list of things to try. I was dizzy and had a massive headache for the rest of the day. It gives me a headache just thinking about the ride…
Well, perhaps not quite yet, but it’s getting closer to normal. It’s been a very busy past few days, hence my somewhat normal lack of posting as of late…
Wednesday through Friday was the ‘final push’ to get the remaining corn harvested. And it was a Good Thing. We finished up around 9PM on Friday night; quite a culmination given that the last few days were pretty long. So I was able to sleep in on Saturday morning and ‘recover’ in a sense.
Saturday afternoon we went over to Phil & Gail’s house for their annual leaf raking event. I rolled down the hill sideways (see picture), just because. We won’t get into that right now. I definitely will cross that off my list of things to do again. Permanently. 🙂 So the effects of that pretty much made my other efforts to do anything on Saturday null and void.
Sunday was a pretty busy day. The morning and midday were pretty usual, with church and then a midday nap. We had a second (technically third) service on Sunday afternoon with a supper to follow, so it was on the order of 7:30 when we got home Sunday night. That makes for a fairly long day.
And today was day #1 back at the office. Sort of a foreign place, really, since I’ve been out of the office more than I’ve been in the office during the last two weeks in particular. But it’s a nice return to ‘normalcy’ in a sense. It’s kinda refreshing to return to bits of code that are unfinished and projects that are unfinished with almost a new sense of purpose and drive. It was like a working vacation, really.
So short of going through the massive number of emails (mostly spam in nature) today, I didn’t get a whole lot done at the office, but I should be able to comfortably get back into the code tomorrow.
So that’s about all for now. Hopefully with this change (or return) I will be able and willing to post something daily here and finally get around to writing the longer ranting or rambling stuff again.
But for now, it’s simple and short. So until next time…
