And To That I Say Phbbt!

I Farted!
Well, that’s the kind of look she’s got (if you ask
me) in this picture. Always a little cutie she is.

It’s been an interesting 24 hours since the last post. We’ve basically had two windstorms, a little rain, and random activities.

While I’m not feeling overly verbose tonight (it’s been a bit of a pattern lately, it seems), I’ll try to keep things interesting enough to justify a read. It all started last night around 3am. You’d have thought the house was falling apart by the noise of the wind. It was incredible. Very little rain (just a few sprinkles for us), but a load of wind. That probably lasted about 10 minutes or so, and then things settled down again for the night. I didn’t notice too much damage from that bit of a windstorm, but it was still enough to keep me awake for a while. I think it was around 4am when I finally got back to sleep.

I guess that’s why I overslept by about a half hour this morning. Yeah, that’s my excuse. 🙂

We had another set of storms roll through early this afternoon. Same sort of deal, a load of wind. This time there was more rain (at least at home), but it again was fairly short-lived. Things are at least supposed to calm down for a few days now. That’ll be nice. Only noticeable damage was a bit of an apple tree we share with the neighbor (at the property line) broke off, so if that’s all that happens…not so bad.

I was pondering whether or not to play the old NES tonight, but then I decided instead to break out the Atari and play with that. It’d been at least a year since my last endeavor with the Atari. And it was good. I can’t play the Atari (or any particular game for that matter) for terribly long because of the controller design and how it makes my thumbs hurt, but I did enjoy my near hour or so of game time.

Not everyone can play an Atari on a 32″ TV, either. At least not in the year 2007. 🙂 I remember fondly the days in college when I got the old Atari working again. Sure, everyone had a PlayStation or whatnot, but I was the only dude with a genuine Atari. And it was good.

While I was playing the Atari tonight, the chloride truck came by and did its thing. I was a bit surprised that they came by at around 8pm to spread that on the road, but in a way I was glad because I’d not ever seen that done before. So the road got sprayed and I got to see it done. As an added bonus, tomorrow there will be significantly less dust stirred up as people fly by our place on the road. Sweet.

I’m not such a big fan of paying the bill for this ‘service,’ but it sure is nice to have done. Last year’s application was more or less effective until the early fall, so that’s cool. Hopefully this will be as good.

Anyway, it’s yawning time now, so I think I’m heading for bed. Check out my recent del.icio.us posts on the right-hand side. If you read this post within a week or so of this, you should check out the Ball Thrown Backwards at 100km/h thing. It’s a bit long (three minutes or so, but it’s really seeming long because you can’t understand the language), but is fairly easy to understand. And cool, too.

Until next time…
