So I managed to work out a pretty productive day in several aspects today. For starters, I got caught up on the various emails, newsletters, etc., that I had received over the last week and something at the office. I also did some electronic organizational stuff that is periodically necessary in order to maintain clarity. That was a Good Thing. It means I can once again focus on tasks at hand without those little things in the back of my head.
Since the day turned out to be really fantastic (temperature-wise), I left a little early today so I could get a few outdoor projects completed without having to freeze (or without having to worry about freezing). Namely, I had a painting project (side door trim on the garage) that I needed to get done before it gets too cold. So that’s taken care of as well. It will be fine for the winter at least. I can give it yet another coat when I do more major outdoor painting in the spring and summer months. That was a good project to get out of the way.
I also managed to rotate the tires on my pickup. Not exactly rocket science, but something that periodically needs to be done…
While I was outside, I took some pictures of the dogs, started up the generator and let it run for a few minutes with a light load (just to keep it in working order), and gave the dogs some much-needed attention. Perhaps next week I’ll get the conduit trenched into their normal dog yard so we can move them back there for the winter (and be able to plug in the heated water bowl). That’d be nice.
While inside tonight, Beth and I finished the work on Kirstin’s Halloween costume. It should be cute enough (for homemade) — at least it promises to be cute. Quite by random planet alignment, Beth found my ceramic ‘devil’ horns in an old costume — a set I’d been looking for since we’ve been living in this house. So I’m quite glad to have those back in the ‘known location’ category again.
I also made banana bread tonight and did a little catching up with my Flickr account and specifically group activity. I posted some pictures into group pools and did some commenting. So it feels good to be getting back to ‘normal’ again.
Kirstin was a bit of a diva today and tonight. I’m sure it’s mostly due to the teething thing, but she didn’t stay awake much past suppertime. She was asleep very shortly after her bath — didn’t completely finish her bottle or stay awake long enough for story time. So she obviously was tired and had a big day behind her.
Anyway, seeing as how I’ve got a few things to do yet before I hit the sack for the night, I’m going to leave it at that and bid thee adieu. Until next time…
