Peaceful Times

Peaceful Times
She so quietly fell asleep tonight in the bouncer just prior to getting ready for bed. She usually stays awake and plays, but today must’ve been too big a day for her. It’s tough being a baby, you know.

It’s been another busy weekend, and I skipped another day’s post. But I was quite tired when I got home (I ended up out in the field for most of the day — which was a good time as always) and had to make spaghetti salad when I got home.

So by the time I got around to where I would make a post, I had all I could do to keep my eyes open any longer. I was plain shot.

Today’s church service was for ‘Mission Fest,’ which is an annual event in which mission work is the center point. This year we had a pretty good presentation, although I have to say that the guy’s vocal quality could’ve been worked upon. He had that calming quality which is often nice and comforting to hear, but can be difficult to stay attentive with (especially in the morning for me).

Regardless, we had a big potluck afterwards, which did not fail. Always a good time eating large bunches of quite varied foods. Good Times!

I spent the evening today working on getting ‘The War’ on to DVD for viewing later. I managed to get episode #1 recorded and verified. I have episode #2 ready to go, but I’m going to let that transcode and burn while I’m sleeping tonight. It takes about 125% of the time it takes to view a video to transcode and burn it on to DVD. At least it does for me. So a two-hour video takes somewhere between two hours and fifteen minutes to two-and-a-half hours to complete. Not bad, but it doesn’t lend itself to doing other things at the same time.

So I’m going to do episode #2 overnight, and get #3 ready to go (yet tonight) so it can be done in the morning when I leave.

And that’s about it for now. Another work week begins, and so far it proves not to be overly boring. 🙂

So until next time…

“The instinct of nearly all societies is to lock up anybody who is truly free. First, society begins by trying to beat you up. If this fails, they try to poison you. If this fails too, they finish by loading honors on your head.”
